Spark is calling. And we're calling Analytics Strategists.

We are looking for a dynamic, details oriented Analytics Strategist to work on some of our customers most valuable data initiatives.

Working on highly visibility and impactful projects, the Analytics Strategist will design analytical solutions that support our customers needs. You will help our customers use data to drive their business. You understand that data isn’t only about using the latest technologies, it is about creating a modern culture of data which enables and encourages the use of data, ensuring everyone understands its value. The role requires some hands-on technical work to define and design the use of key technologies to support the delivery of high value data solutions. You are keen to listen and understand, comfortable with ambiguity and able to work in dynamic environments with complex stakeholder relationships.
Specifically, we see your time is spent:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Internal and external stakeholders, Spark engineers, to translate business requirements into technical specifications and analytical designs.

  • Engage directly with C-level executives to advise, shape, and lead the direction of innovative and outcome-driven data strategies, combining proven best practices with forward-thinking approaches.

  • Lead analysts, analytics engineers, data engineers or data scientists to develop small POC’s to validate designs, ideas or best practices .

  • Work with the delivery team to provide oversight of analytical implementations during delivery.

  • Propose analytical solutions which incorporate technology, ways of working, data literacy and governance ensuring a holistic view is taken of embedding data initiatives within an organisation.

  • Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in modern Data Analytics tools and technologies, keeping abreast of the latest advancements.

  • Ensuring effective roll out of analytical initiatives within the customer organisation. This could include running workshops or training on new technologies, or helping internal teams to onboard to new ways of working.

  • Independently handle technical responsibilities while overseeing the work of other analytics team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and analyse organisational and role specific requirements.

  • Conduct maturity assessments, understanding the current state of clients data culture and ecosystem.

  • Propose a roadmap of analytical solutions and capabilities which close the maturity gap – including technology, ways of working, data governance, data literacy and vision.

  • Work with clients to deliver on their data roadmaps, taking ownership of initiatives and guiding clients through the transformation.

  • Deliver transformative solutions to clients that are aligned to industry best practices and provide thought leadership in data space, ensuring the solution is successfully onboarded to all relevant departments.

What will pique our interest is someone that might have:
  • Strong academic record including a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other quantitative disciplines. 

  • 5+ years of experience working on analytical initiatives within a dynamic commercially focused environment helping business leverage data for operational or strategic decision making.

  • 8+ years technical experience working in data analytics, data science, data visualisation or data warehousing.

  • Extensive knowledge of SQL, Python, Spark, or other relevant data processing languages or frameworks. 

  • 5+ years proven industry experience working with the Cloud Platform Data Services (AWS Redshift, Glue, EMR, Athena, Azure Synapse & Data Factory). 

  • Experience working within an agile scrum team building software solutions. 

  • Experience in producing tested, impactful, and well-documented data applications.

  • Experience in building holistic data strategies which include assessing organizational outcomes and current state landscape and making functional and technical recommendations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and design innovative data solutions.

  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to provide technical leadership to the Analytics team to drive successful project outcomes.

  • The ability to take ownership of problems end to end and find creative solutions.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills; a team player and keen learner who loves building great things together.

  • Proficient at presenting solutions to technical and non-technical audience including C-level stakeholders.

  • Proficient at crafting an analytical story to communicate the findings within a dataset and helping business drive decision making using data .

  • Knowledge & experience with any of these (desirable):  DataBricks, Snowflake, dbt, ML/AI Services (AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML Studio), Data Governance, Master Data management .

  • Interest in AI/ML applications.
