As a Data Engineer at Spark, you will be the architect behind our customers' data-driven journeys. You'll design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that enable seamless data integration, storage, and analysis. From data ingestion to visualisation, you'll be instrumental in turning raw data into actionable insights that empower our clients to make informed decisions and stay ahead of the curve.
Specifically, we see your time is spent:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
  • Design and implement robust ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into our data warehouse.
  • Optimise and maintain data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and metadata to ensure data integrity and consistency.
  • Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our data assets.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What will pique our interest is someone that might have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in data modelling, ETL, and data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python (PySpark) and/or Scala, with experience working with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Apache Flink.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and experience with related services (e.g., AWS Glue, Google BigQuery, Azure Data Factory).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Nice to have:

  • Experience using modelling tools such as DBT.
  • Hand-on experience setting up data analytics/BI tools, such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Hands-on involvement in crafting data infrastructure utilising native cloud technologies such as CDK and Bicep.
  • Comprehension of DataDevOps methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
